As an agricultural science teacher I have the opportunity to teach my students about a variety of topics, including plant production and science. Here in Utah we have suitable light for growing plants for a very short amount of time. We tried a fall garden this year in the greenhouse, but without adequate lighting many plants died or were stunted in growth. When completing a plant science experiment, many kids couldn't grow their plants fast enough due to insufficient lighting. When opportunity is given to kids to grow plants, their world seems to light up for a possibility to produce something completely theirs. With these grow lights in the greenhouse we could produce tomatoes, cucumbers, herbs, corn, flowers, pumpkins and a variety of other products ALL YEAR LONG. The kids get to take ownership and watch their seed grow to produce flowers and fruit. We already have a greenhouse, water, and heat, all we need is light to finish up this amazing asset.
