The students at our elementary school are working hard to reach reading goals and become fluent readers that are capable of reading grade level text. The staff encourages all students to read 20-30 minutes a night. To ensure that all students have a book to read at home, our school gives each student a "Book in the Bag" that is on their reading level. The students read the book at home to an adult and bring the book and parent signature slip the following day. The food items will be used at random times to thank students for taking the time to read at home. TODAY A READER, TOMORROW A LEADER! The reading posters and wall art will be used throughout the school on bulletin boards and also in the reading intervention room to create a positive learning environment within the school setting. As the students progress, their name will be added to the All Star Reading bulletin board that is displayed in the front of the school.
