The materials I am seeking will be a welcome addition to the sensory tools available to our Special Education students. They will help them focus in class and also better handle the big emotions they experience each day at school. My students are learning to recognize what they are feeling and to take charge of those emotions by using regulation strategies and tools. COVID has increased the need for emotional learning and support for our students. I would like to give my students a variety of movement tools to help them move their bodies appropriately in class so they can better focus. The wobble stools, wiggle cushions, desk bands, and lap pad will help them to meet their movement needs. The Lego set will be so helpful in providing a calming activity where they can use their creativity. I have seen how sensory tools can positively support my students as they become more self-aware and find appropriate ways to move while they are learning, and hope that the additional options will support them as they continue to grow!
