In first grade, we are learning to read and starting to see ourselves as readers! These resources will play a crucial role in helping in various areas of literacy including phonemic awareness, phonics, writing, and reading. Students will get to explore word families, vowel patterns, and phonics word parts through hands-on games, sorts, and puzzles. This kinesthetic learning is an aspect of learning that children missed out on due to the effects of COVID on education. We are looking to use these teaching tools to help motivate learners and expand understanding. Literacy is the key to developing life-long learners! From headphones to help focus online learning to spin wheels, dice and flip books, students will be able to progress and grow in their own way as they build a strong foundation.
