As an elementary school counselor, I recognize the need for multi-tiered levels of support to enhance emotional wellness and student mental health. I realize the need for a Wellness Center during this national mental health crisis, whereby access to equitable social/emotional supports can contribute to maximizing the academic, emotional, and social potential for each and every elementary student. As a leader with a unique position in my schools, I am hopeful that my passion and expertise concerning emotional wellness has occasion to flourish. I plan to establish an emotional Wellness Center where all students, teachers, faculty, and staff will feel the benefits of a calming and relaxing environment during some of our most challenging times.
