In light of Covid-19, some students have only had the chance to experience learning via online methods. Though the experience can be beneficial, it limits their interaction with materials that are used to develop important skills that will ultimately translate to better handwriting and hands-on learning. With these materials, students will experience increased amounts of hands-on learning, as opposed to implementing paper-pencil work, which will target the specific skill deficits for each child. Some of the resources needed for my team to create these hands-on activities can be pricey & unlike many classroom teachers, Occupational Therapists are not provided by the district with a budget to create these projects! These materials will be extremely beneficial in targeting specific skill deficits and ultimately providing students with a chance to engage in projects that will increase their exposure to hands-on activities they may not have had the opportunity to engage in during the online schooling received during Covid-19.
