The use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom, especially in math. The school provides dry erase markers, but not erasers. Having actual erasers will help immensely and will help with the distractions of wiping the board with their hands or getting up during our lesson to get a tissue. Even though they are great about doing this, it is distracting for many of my students who have focusing issues and they miss important instruction. A new pencil sharpener is needed since the school provided sharpener just eats my students' pencils. Science materials will enhance student engagement. We teach electricity and having some hands on activities will allow for deeper understanding. We are planning to prepare and present a Utah History Program at the end of the year for parents, as well as have our own Mountain Man Rendezvous. Costumes will add greatly to student engagement and excitement to learn the history of our great state. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement and their desire to learn. Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand. Their excitement to learn will be increased and my students will have a richer knowledge due to your generosity. Thanks for investing in our future!
