Our school values and utilizes data to inform classroom instruction. From our diagnostic prescriptive analysis based on statewide screenings and school based diagnostics we have determined a focus for our instruction to be on phonics and phonemic awareness. The materials we would like to purchase will put markers in the hands of students, and writing journals in every desk. These materials will support students in phoneme/grapheme mapping which will build skills in letter formation and automaticity in accurate word recognition of letters, sounds and words and a strong foundation in spelling and sentence writing. The CVC building blocks will provide hands on practice with word building, word chaining, and blending.
