Communicating effectively is the key to success in education. Without the ability to ask for help, present an idea, or collaborate with a peer your ability to access your education is reduced. Speech therapy is key to making those with speech and language impairments receive an equitable education. My students love to learn with me however what makes an effective speech therapy lesson is one that is engaging through all modalities. Touching, feeling, building, learning, and collaborating is what make the concepts learned in speech stick and generalize to the classroom!
