I've taught using an iPad in the past, and it made a big difference in how my students interact with their notes. I will be able to color-code our notes so that my students who are absent (for Covid or otherwise) are able to understand the notes online. The students will be able to match my color usage to help reinforce the procedures for solving problems. I will also be able to record lessons and mini-lessons to help my students if schools are shut down or if I'm absent for illness. Mini-lessons are also great if I notice that many students are struggling with a particular homework assignment. I have had several students tell me how much they appreciate it when I color-code my notes because it helps them connect the procedures when they try working on their own. It's amazing how empowered they feel just by doing their notes in color. This teaching method has always worked best when I've had an iPad and a great note-taking app. I'm excited to help them be more engaged with math and excited to learn!
