I am always looking for ways to help my students learn and prepare for life after school services. Often I find myself trying to think outside the box for ways to assist in teaching my students the skills and healthy habits they will need throughout their lives. I believe a VR system and a laser engraver can assist in teaching my students some of the skills they may need in life. By having and using a VR system, it will help my students in multiple ways. My students sometimes struggle to be active and get exercise. A VR system is another resource that can motivate them through something fun and interactive. Most of my students see their peers and like to do the same things they are doing. There are many apps for VR systems that will be fun and engaging and will get them up and being active in a fun way. The VR system can also be used to take virtual tours which will allow my students to experience activities and places in the world that they would otherwise never have an opportunity to experience. Our students in multiple classes are working to gain life skills and job skills. Many of our students create crafts to sell in our school store. An engraving machine will allow our students to learn more useful skills that could benefit them in employment. It will also allow them to create new and different crafts for our store and enhance some of the crafts they are already making.
