Many students with cognitive disabilities can develop a dislike for reading by the time they reach junior high. This can be for many reasons, including a long struggle with reading, few engaging reading materials at their level, or having few opportunities to read for fun. Through having a classroom library with fun, engaging, and interesting books that are at their level, I can help them to regain a joy for reading while still helping them to improve their reading and literacy skills. These books will be used as a supplement to my other curriculums so that students have another option for engaging and enjoyable reading materials at their reading level.

About my class
