The materials will be used to create a good inclusive learning environment for our peer tutors and our special needs students. The flexible seating will be used to keep them comfortable and engaged while they interact with their peers and learn life and social skills. The games will be used by the students to create positive peer interactions and promote communication skills and help the peer tutors by giving them the opportunities to be good examples in different learning and playing situations. The materials will provide opportunity in our special education room to learn how to prepare food in the microwave. The cart will assist in keeping our materials organized and easy to find for peer tutors and teacher aides. These activities and materials will promote life skills necessary for our students to learn and what better way to learn than to interact with our peers, even if they are higher functioning.
