My students need resources to explore and learn different skills for Math. I need different materials such as math manipulatives and games to make them explore and learn to work in groups. I love to see them working in small groups and how they explain different concepts to each other. Technology is a huge part of our world today, so adding some interactive devices that my students can use will help engage them and make learning math more fun. I work most days with various manipulatives and need to be in front of the classroom, so the rolling desk will help me access the students more easily. Having good resources is crucial to be able to work in small groups and interact since that is how they learn best. The more they interact while doing math, the better they can build not only their Math skills and strategies - but also social skills and learn how to regulate their own emotions. The materials I have requested all relate to math, and we are building knowledge on those skills and working on their social emotional development while we work. Since I also teach Spanish, while we play games they are working on speaking to me and one another using the Spanish vocabulary I have been teaching them all year long.
