We use whiteboards every single day in my math classroom! I use them to help my struggling learners to stay engaged and present in what we are doing and learning as well as provide an easy way for the kids to show work and make mistakes. After the concept is taught, I have my students practice on whiteboards, and then do the typical "one, two, three, show me" and have the students lift their whiteboards up. This poses a few problems, one: students being shy to hold their work up for the whole class to see, and two: it is harder for me to make sure that the students are on task and not just drawing, among many more. Having a small group whiteboard top table would allow me to create more differentiated learning. I would be able to remediate students when needed and be able to better facilitate the learning that is taking place. Having wiggle chairs will help my students that are kinesthetic learners move while staying engaged in the lesson. These are so beneficial to the students that really just need to get the wiggles out in order to pay attention! My students are definitely more involved in learning when they are able to move and are given a fun and engaging way to learn and remediate.
