Covid has effected us all, and my first graders have taken a hit. I am working more in small groups to bridge the gaps in their learning. Small groups are effective but sharing materials are not. If I had the ability to give each student a small container of manipulatives to use, It would allow me to spend more time teaching, than cleaning. Allowing me to get to more students during the day, and then sanitizing/cleaning after they have gone. I am learning about how to more effectively teach my students how to read. Learning and growing as a teacher means using different materials that I don't readily have on hand. These materials need to be easy to sanitize so they can be used multiple times for different students.
