I am asking for these supplies to help students close the gap with math and social skills. I work with several small groups of students that have fallen behind academically. Some of them are struggling in math and really learn well when I can make it visual and hands on. I am hoping that these supplies with help my students learn math concepts that they struggle with for example surface area and the coordinate plane. I also work with students who are lacking social skills especially with the isolation of Covid. I hold small groups to help students make friends, learn to process emotions and other things that they may struggle with. I hope that these supplies with help create a space in which students can come and share their emotions and we can help teach them productive ways to process them. This will help my students learn to deal with emotions and make friends so school becomes a safe place for them.
