Many of my students learn best with hands-on projects and manipulatives. We were not able to do this last year as many students were online, and those that did come to school had to be provided with a safe learning environment, which meant that many things were completely hands free. Now that we have been able to safely return to school, I would love to start using manipulatives with my students once again. I work full-time with my Kindergarten students and also stay an hour after school teaching a tutoring program for students ranging from K-6 grade. I teach small groups for reading intervention, and would be fully capable of using these resources in my groups to help close the learning gap from COVID-19. I also pull students aside individually to help them master their number and quantity skills, and the use of the math games and manipulatives would be an amazing help to some of my lower leveled students. Many of the students who come to me for tutoring would also benefit from the use of manipulatives, as it gives them a new way to visualize concepts.
