The students that I work with experience grief and loss, truancy, family issues, unmet mental health needs and much more while trying to succeed in school. Utilizing the Silhouette cutter will create skill-based social stories and school-wide SEL themed bulletin boards. It will be used to cut positive phrases for the students to use during their school day. The LEGO people will be incorporated in a LEGO Social Skills group that addresses family transitions, problem-solving, and growth mindset. In addition to the Silhouette cutter and Lego people, I am seeking donations for sensory tools (sand art and storage, jelly fish lamps, noise canceling earphones, flexible seating options, etc) to promote social, emotional health, and student inclusion. All of the requested sensory materials will help students manage their emotions and overstimulation at school.
