Culture experience enhances students' understanding about their learning of the language. In Utah DLI program, we used to have multiple opportunities offered to students to have field trips, watch shows, have guests coming to school during major festivals. COVID-19 has stopped many of these activities. My students have tried hard during online learning, multi-learning modes and grew deep interest in Chinese culture. The project will make sure they get to learn more through hands-on activities like art, paper craft and chopstick competitions. Students treasure their opportunities to work and play and learn with their peers. DLI students especially treasure their chances to share their learning to students who are not in the program. To have interesting art programs and fun activities with the whole community help my students to grow more confident and stronger. I have seen past students benefit from art projects and become experts in their peers to demonstrate and present themselves. And I believe my current students need this opportunity to help them boost their sense of success and understand that their learning is a true treasure for their community.
