We use Chromebooks everyday in our program and currently do not have enough for all of our students. Students use the Chromebooks to access their classes required for graduation and they also use them for technology classes, job skills development and maintaining relationships with outside providers to assist them in the transition from high school to adulthood. During the past 2 years we have really relied on Chromebooks to continue our instruction and learning whether we are in school or virtual learning from home due to Covid-19. Students with disabilities benefit from working on a Chromebook since they have a built-in screen reader, screen magnifier, high contrast mode, adjustable sizes and easy to use apps. All of these features provide the necessary support and accommodations our students need to be successful in completing their requirements to earn their diplomas. Covid-19 has definitely been a struggle for my students, but these Chromebooks will provide uninterrupted access to their curriculum.
