It can be overwhelming for students to come into the classroom after long periods of time at home. These items will provide an area that is child led, where students will work together to solve problems and choose materials. This will provide a calm quiet area for students to share, and work with each other to choose activities and books to work on. These items are all designed to help students learn literacy skills. Literacy is an area that many students have fallen behind in over the two years dealing with Covid, quarantining, and at home stress. Even young students just starting kindergarten are behind groups of students starting a few years ago.
