Flexible seating helps meet a wide range of student needs. Flexible seating for sensory processing allows students to advocate for their own needs. Additionally, flexible seating gives all students a choice to sit where they want, which gives them more control of their environment and encourages class-appropriate behavior because they are in charge of their own seats. Many students are experiencing the most "normal" year of school they've ever had. The materials I've selected will allow students the least restrictive seating environment, giving them choices and allowing movement. This will benefit all students who need to wiggle while they learn or who are learning school social and academic norms.
