One of the biggest concerns I have about the loss of learning due to COVID is reading gaps. I have a goal to progress monitor students each week in reading and the i-pad would allow me to do this in a quick and efficient way. Research shows that progress monitoring followed with interventions is the best way to close learning gaps. My students would greatly benefit from the technology that would allow me to progress monitor in a more efficient way. The Apple Pencil would connect to my Apple tv and allow me to highlight text, draw ideas, encourage participation, and promote thinking with the whole class. This i-pad would also allow more free movement around the classroom allowing me to more effectively assess if my students are understanding what is being taught.
I would use the STEM books to introduce and reinforce standards, promote literacy and integrate curriculum in a fun and interesting context. We don't have any science or stem books so this would be a super helpful addition to my class. My goal for students would be to connect literacy and science in an engaging and meaningful way.
With exciting STEM resources and an iPad to share concepts, our class will ignite discovery and energize enthusiasm for creative thinking and problem solving.
