Students will use these hands-on activities we use in our class to reteach concepts and connect them to their other math class. Manipulatives like GeoFigures can help our 6th graders visualize and feel 3D shapes and their nets. Graphing whiteboards will help my 8th graders practice graphing ordered pairs to make lines. Operation dice will allow my 7th graders to practice using all four operations with integers in a new and active way. I want to provide my students with opportunities to love math and make their own interactive connections with it. I hope this can build my students' confidence in themselves and their ability to make progress. In addition to using manipulatives in our classroom to promote learning, we are always working on our social skills. This can be awkward and uncomfortable for my students to learn, so I love to incorporate games into these lessons. These card games like Liar Liar, What Do You Meme, Icebreaker games, and more help promote teamwork, friendship, communication, and connections in our class.
