There were learning gaps among students trying to learn online and digitally at home. Not all students had a quiet place to study along with the support of the family to guide and encourage them to thrive during the pandemic so this year school brings many challenges. As students returned to the classroom this year after COVID-19 isolation, many returned with gaps in learning that great teachers can address with the magic of in-person learning in a warm and enviting environment conducive to small-group instruction. My students returned to my science classroom with enthusiasm to be back in the classroom but this year some extra remediation time is needed to help all the students thrive.
