I am so excited to be able to add some sensory and social-emotional tools to my room. I have always spent my own money to be able to provide some of the tools to help support students. Having this opportunity would be amazing. There are so many kids that need the extra support during the day and I would love to be able to help them develop the sensory skills they need. Research shows that the best way for children to learn is through play-based inquiry. Sensory play also teaches children to solve problems and help with social- emotional needs. Sensory tools can help with regulation, improve focus, and increase participation. I feel like over the last year we have seen a need for this more than ever. This would allow me to have a sensory-informed classroom that will support various sensory needs for students.
