Many of the supplies that I have requested are to encourage authentic and engaging learning experiences in the classroom. My students, like so many, are eager to get back to working together in groups and having educational opportunities that are genuine and collaborative - that only a classroom atmosphere can provide. Growing my Spanish library in conjunction with the whisper phones will allow my students to read daily to themselves to augment language acquisition and better pronunciation. The maracas will be a blast during music time and the flags will set the cultural scene! The magnet board will allow me to display quality work and celebrate the efforts of many students. The large canvas will be used to create a custom work of art that will include the students' ideas and skills and will be hung in the room for years to come to help commemorate this unique and difficult time - we can do hard things! The remainder of the supplies will be a great benefit to my Utah History classes as we use manipulatives to bring the history to life and have meaningful group discussions. The storage will obviously help our classroom be more organized for optimal learning. I really look forward to using the clipboards for gallery walks and group work that has the students up and out of their seats.
