Since we have a chunk of students that are from low income housing, they do not have resources at home to do their online Lexia and math programs. Because they are so behind from exposure and concepts that are so basic for 1st grade, they continue to get behind and the very little progress they make at school is outnumbered by how behind they continue to get each week. Having these extra tablets give the students a chance to have a center where they can work on these programs to continue their progress so they do not have to worry about not being able to do it at home without the technology and resources they need, it can all be done in the classroom.
