During these last two school years, our classrooms have made huge changes to protect our students. These changes have made emotional and academic gaps between our students and it's showing. We can keep our students safe and also keep them strong socially, emotionally and academically, but we need some help in the classroom to do this. I believe helping my students have more access to hands-on math games and manipulative & hands-on science activities and reading materials will help keep them safe and increase there excitement during lessons. Hands-on materials will increase positive social interactions with one another in and outside classroom while increasing skills being introduced during the lessons. This math and science project with help my students master these skills. Working collaboratively and safely will increase social and emotional learning. Plus, having classroom access to fun, interesting science books gives students wonderful things to talk about while building stronger classroom communities. All a while helping build background knowledge about science standards that will be taught or integrated across different curriculums in the classroom.
