As we all know at this time, it is hard to keep students engaged and on task with so much going on in our world with the pandemic impacting our learning. We never know when we could switch to virtual, remote, or distance learning so every day we get with our students in person is so important. To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use a light table and accessories. Having a light table and accessories will help my students have a hands on and engaging way to help reinforce their letter recognition, letter sounds, sight words, CVC words, number recognition, patterns, and sorting skills during our small group stations. Students will be able to sequence letters, sequence numbers, practicing making patterns and sorting, trace uppercase and lowercase letters, trace CVC words and sight words, practice counting, and so much more independently or with a partner. There is also the opportunity for myself to demonstrate to my students what I need to see. By helping donate to our classroom, my students will be able to explore, learn, and review all their skills while having that hands on kinesthetic and tactile learning. The students will be able to use cooperation and teamwork while working with a partner at the light table.
