Creating art is especially beneficial to a student's social and emotional well-being. More and more students are struggling emotionally since the pandemic and art can be a therapeutic help to them- a way share their thoughts and feelings. These materials will aid in their artistic explorations and hands-on creations. The art classroom is a safe space for students to explore their talents and build their confidence. In my classroom we also use art to help students develop an understanding and appreciation for cultures and perspectives different from their own, and develop empathy for others which is needed during these challenging times.
