I would like my students to have the opportunity to use high quality art materials for projects related to our learning. For example, we will use pastels to illustrate student writing about animal adaptations, we will use watercolor pencils to illustrate student poetry. Students will experience art projects that connect to our learning - an aspect they have little exposure to. Students will be taught drawing techniques for each medium, taking our learning beyond the basics of reading and math. The art supplies will be available for students in future years as well.
