First and foremost, I will be able to write directly on digitally submitted work. This real-time feedback is much more effective, as is handwritten, direct comments. Secondly, I will be able to create more engaging original activities and materials using a stylus and touchscreen. Currently, our school provides only desktops for teacher-use. This limits what I can create to enhance student learning, and often leads to wasted time waiting for fellow teachers to finish up on shared desktops. A dedicated ESL-teacher tablet would allow a range of new, exciting learning opportunities while maximizing the time I have available for planning.
