I will use the iPad as a portable whiteboard that I can project while I am teaching. By having an iPad, I will be able to move around my classroom freely without having to be tied to the whiteboard. I can have students demonstrate their understanding of a concept on the iPad and then explain their thinking to the class. My current doc camera is blurry and students have a hard time seeing what is being displayed. It is very important that my students receive high-quality instruction during the times they are with me. This iPad would make a huge difference.
Having an iPad during small group instruction would be very beneficial to all the learners in my classroom. I would be able to model, instruct, and have my students interact on the iPad. I would be able to screen record my lessons so they can be available for my students that are quarantined or students that need reinforcement at home. This would also be a resource to parents while doing homework.
I have also found the need to make tutorial videos, especially with math concepts. I would have these videos available for students to watch at school and at home. This is a way I can personalize learning for students. With COVID-19, the gap has widened tremendously for my low socioeconomic and low achieving learners. Based on my student's IEP goals, I need to be able to create individualized videos and practice opportunities so they can make progress.
