My students often come to school unprepared with the basic necessities. Pencils, dry erase markers and folders are things that many students do not have access to. My students need these materials in order to be successful in writing. Due to Covid-19, many students struggle with motivation and emotional connections to learning and to their peers. I plan to make incentive t-shirts with quotes from novels that we have read in class to build class culture and inspire more writing and reading. By providing materials for my students, they are able to better focus on learning, rather than lack of materials from home they are unable to provide.
