In our current classroom, we don't have much room for movement. Students sit in their desks for nearly 5 per day. We take various breaks during the day simply to move around and get blood flowing to our brains! With your help, I'd love to incorporate flexible seating arrangements inside our classroom. Flexible seating looks like wobble chairs, scoop chairs, beanbag chairs, and bands to put on the bottom of regular chairs (to fidget feet). Also, I'd love to add a "carpet space" in our classroom to have a different location to meet with the students. Currently, I teach the students while they are seated in their chairs. I believe that a transition to the carpet could help increase engagement and focus. Additionally, I am seeking a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card because I want to invest in a solid social-emotional learning curriculum. I just purchased a short lesson in Teachers Pay Teachers, and our class responded so positively! With a challenging COVID year, students need extra support to maintain their mental health. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration! We are so excited to get extra support!
