Through play children learn a multitude of skills; social interaction, fine motor coordination, imaginative play, and problem solving. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, my students have not had the opportunity to engage with their peers in play and practicing skills of collaboration and working together as much as they would in a typical year. These resources will help bridge the gap that my students experienced as a result of COVID-19. Through the use of sensory and building toys such as Build Me Emotions from LEGO Education, Design Play STEAM Kits and Dot Art Painters, children are able to engage their different sensory systems and use their executive functioning skills to solve problems and hone their skills. These experiences lend themselves to many real world applications in a student's life whether it be sequencing activities or figuring out challenging problems placed before them. These items will help open up many different avenues of learning for my students as grow. Thank you!
