Animal Crossing is so much more than a video game. Surprisingly, this game holds many common daily life skills that can be taught to our students through a virtual representation in fun, playful and gaming way. Specifically, teaching our students about finances, bills like a home loan, self sufficiency of nutrition through a community garden, some practical science application of digging up fossils to donate to the "in-game museum", going fishing, working and selling items to receive money, including but not limited to many other life skills. Our students would also love Mario Kart during recreation/leisure time because it creates interaction with others, team bonding and provides communication with other students.
