The item requested is a classroom set of 30 (three 10-packs) of scientific calculators. While some students do bring their own calculators, there are many who don't or cannot. Having a classroom set will ensure that students all have access to a calculator during assessments, instruction, and in-class assignments. For what we cover in junior high math, having a dedicated calculator is far better suited to what the average iPhone or cell phone calculator can do. Ensuring that there is a sufficient number of grade-adequate calculators will eliminate a significant instructional hurdle and have a positive effect on student learning and engagement.
