In a waldorf education we reach and teach the children through the system of head, heart and hands. As a first year teacher I have the furniture, a place for everything to go, but only basic supplies to really dive into the subjects. I am my classes music teacher, specialties teacher, math, language and art. I will be with my class all throughout elementary until they reach eighth grade. I would love to get the students on the right foot as we begin our journey. Multiple students need frequent movement and sensory. A soft indoor swing would help along with an indoor trampoline. Jumprope and kickballs for outdoor play is essential in first grade movement and intergrating into the body. Having hands on manipulatives for both math and language to not only visually help the students, but get their hands and minds involved. Reaching all of their senses in the process, creating a creative a fun environment and objects to set them up for success. Play based learning and objects for a healthier classroom environment and help with classroom behavior.
