As a first year Speech Language Pathologist, I am excited to provide hands-on materials that are as diverse as my students. The iPad in a shatterproof case will allow all my students to access therapy materials online without the worry of it accidently falling and breaking. I will be able to fully focus on my student and not have the stressing thought in the back of my mind, "Don't let it fall!" I already have many apps that will help my students achieve their goals ready to download, all I need is the iPad.
The donations I am requesting will benefit all my students and make therapy more appealing with hand-on supplies, books, and activities. I will be able to build my collection of therapy materials, which will provide my students with engaging materials focusing on their specific goals. The articulation cards provide visually stimulation material that can be used to in a variety of ways to focus on specific sounds and can be used with all ages. The books will provide language rich therapy to help my students acquire skills to improve their communication abilities. My students concentrate better during therapy when they have something to manipulate, and this is where the hand-on supplies are essential. Whether it is a conversational group ensuring their new speech sounds carryover in every day speech or motivation for a young student to stay on task, all the supplies will be put to good use.
