The young students in my class are now able to be gathered together in a cooperative community and express ideas both as individuals and as a collective. The items I have chosen will be used to encourage students to work together to build and discover how the world around them works. Due to Covid these students have not experienced playing in the group setting. Not only will the loose parts develop their math and science skills, they will foster group skills which promotes social connections and improves communication. I plan on setting up centers to encourage this free play. The magnetic building sets allow the group to build without a pre planned outcome. I have selected the open ended building sets in different styles to appeal to the individual needs of the children. Waterfalls, coasters, trucks and dough tools will help me keep an every changing environment.
