Special Ed students have been hit especially hard by the COVID pandemic. Any time services have to be disrupted or routines changed for students with special needs, learning is impacted and it can take days, weeks, even months to help a student get back into effective learning patterns. COVID has been a never ending string of disruptions from online learning to quarantine to changes in staff and more. The activities, games and manipulatives requested in this project help teachers get our students back on track and keep them moving forward. Some examples include: Math, writing and social skills workbooks to help students who may not be ready to complete the same level activities as other students in the class Games teach action and consequence, and require students practice social skills like taking turns, sharing, and communication Manipulatives provide additional options for teaching things like numbers, counting, following directions and more Fidgets help students concentrate and can provide motivation for students who may otherwise struggle in a traditional classroom setting.
