It will help our students to explore more real-life through play and imagination, helping them learn there is more out there in the outside world other than what is in their homes. Helping them believe they can be anything they want to be. Through Dramatic Play toys like an Ice cream set, drink dispenser, sushi set, and a pretend garden they can learn to imagine as well as build social skills. We will be able to help them share, take turns and help them with self-regulation and problem solving when those frustrations situations come up with those little emotions they are learning with. With a Doll House big enough for many children we can build language skills. Most of our children are SPED and in speech so we are working hard to build their vocabulary skills for themselves and others, playing with a dollhouse brings on lots of vocabulary. through other dramatic play items such as a Play mixer and Laundry set, we can work on life skills, teaching them how to grow and help clean up after themselves as well as how to cook in a kitchen and what that looks like. Through dramatic play, they can be and do anything, and sometimes they don't have these things or the ability to gain these skills at home. With Toys like Building Blocks, Magnets, Puzzles, Egg Shakers for music, ABC bots, and Balancing toys we can teach problem-solving, letters, sounds, science, colors, numbers, and fine motor skills with them and their peers Hopscotch and Stomp rockets and balancing stones are great for gross and some fine motor skills, as well as problem-solving, and turn-taking. We can build all those social-emotional skills through all of this play as well as the self-regulating skills they need.
