In our Chinese immersion class, everything should be in Chinese. Anything with English words on is not allowed to show up in our classroom. But it is so hard to buy teaching resources in America without English. For example, all the educational posters I bought from the Amazon and Lakeshore etc. will be reworked by myself and it needs hours to redo it, such as using tapes to wipe out everything in English and rewriting them in Chinese. What's more, books that are only in Chinese and suitable for my 6th grade and 9th grade students are hardly to find in America. Even when we can find a few, they are very expensive. That's why I bought a lot of books and Chinese teaching resources from China. The shipping fees are very expensive due the international delivery and the weight. Therefore, I have used up all my budget this year. That's why I am requesting the classroom supplies such as markers and Sharpies. In my 6th grade social studies teaching, students complete many hands-on projects such Terra Cotta warriors to have a better understanding of the world civilizations. In my lesson planning, I need to prepare many materials for my students project building, that's why I request a laminator. In my 9th grade Chinese class, I just have 7 students. It is a small class, but they work very hard and have learned Chinese since they were 1st graders. They have an AP Chinese test to pass this school year. Writing is a very important part on their test. iPads could save more time. When I am instructing character and essay writing, it would be great if my students can see their writing assignment on the screen while I am doing the proofreading at the same time.
