Many students have been in and out of school with COVID and other related closures. This means they are having to learn more and more through books and computers. While these two mediums can be effective at certain times, the ability of a child to learn through doing leads to longer lasting and deeper learning. Students need to understand the technologies of their future. As we look at climate change and the emergence of strong renewable energy options, the students will be heavily involved in energy transition in the upcoming decades. They need to know what technologies are currently available and how they work. This project will allow students to see real life applications of solar and wind energy and see the possibilities for their own future homes. Included with the supplies is a hands on project designed for students to understand work with their hands to create their own solar solution with a solar-powered toy car which can be reused for multiple years of learning.
