The materials purchased from this donation will be used to help build reading literacy in the classroom using teaching strategies from LETRS training and district programs. Kindergarten is a critical time to lay the foundation for becoming a successful reader. Through the use of sorting boards, word matches, and word building activities students will develop confidence in their ability to read, identify letters and sounds, and understand the correlation between spoken and printed words. This will be done in whole class and small group settings, as well as center time.
