I am a reading intervention specialist that works with all of the low readers in 1st-6th grade. I am lacking supplies to make enough room for the students I service, and exciting things to make reading fun. We regularly have 4 to 5 groups going at a time and each group could benefit from a small pocket chart that goes on the table. We don't currently have a way to effectively do group sorts.
3 groups have to work at an unleveled, leftover, desk-made table, and getting The Classroom Select T-Mold Activity Kidney Table would solve that problem. Along with that, many of my students have ADHD and a few are on the autism spectrum. It is hard for them to pay attention and some get easily frustrated. Putting Chair Bands Bouncy Fidget Kick Resistance Bands for Kids-Flexible Sensory Seating-Students with Autism ADHD-School Chairs Desk can truly help them with attention and sensory issues they struggle with. I also need to make our lesson kits easily accessible to teachers and aides, having the Furinno Pasir 4 Tier Open Shelf to store these materials would open up the classroom to allow for another kidney table.
I have asked to receive donations for items to make reading more intriguing. My students need more whiteboards and erasers. The witch fingers and small magnifying glasses will help with tracking, and the whisper phones allow students to hear themselves read. For my little ones that are still struggling with the alphabet, I’ve asked for sheets of fine sandpaper so I can cut letters for students to practice tracing with their fingers. Finally, I’ve asked for a small bag of incentives to refill my prize box. The kids work hard and deserve to be celebrated.
