Most of the memories our kindergarten students have are of a COVID-19 world. What they have been surrounded by since they started going to preschool, story time at the public library, or across the street to play with a friend- is a world bombarded with the effects of COVID-19 as well as other natural and political ailments. Dramatic play and fine motor materials will allow our kindergarten students to experiment with life-like experiences as they develop the social and emotional foundational skills necessary to lead a proactive lifestyle. Providing students with objects and supplies to build their fine motor skills effects every other task they will be given throughout their life. Providing students with a variety of dramatic play materials opens a world of creative experiences, especially as these young children develop the skills of understanding one another and learning through purposeful play.
